Climate change is one of the biggest threats facing humanity and it has massive implications for our livelihoods. Scientists recommend limiting temperature rise to 1.5 degrees and in order to meet that threshold, the world must change its habits and cut emissions by 45% over the next 11 years according to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). Buildings are responsible for about 40% of our carbon emissions, which means that efforts to make our built environment more sustainable must be a big part of the solution. For this reason, it is critical that individuals, communities and cities be committed to taking action.
What is VIBE and why was it created?
Our parent company, Verdani Partners, is a U.S. based sustainability consulting firm that is focused on advancing sustainability in the built environment. When the current administration decided to withdraw from the Paris Agreement we became concerned with the lack of federal action on environmental issues which motivated us to create a non-profit organization called Verdani Institute for the Built Environment (VIBE). Beyond the work Verdani does for its clients, by creating VIBE and developing our four main Focus Area programs, we are doing our part to make a positive impact and take action to fight climate change. Through VIBE, we plan to provide resources for green building and resilience practices, education and collaboration on a global scale.
We have created a GoFundMe Campaign so you can help take action in the fight against climate change.
With your generous donations we will:
Hire an executive director to run the organization and manage our programs
Publish a children’s book about Climate Heroes and our first Sustainable Real Estate Textbook
Invest in our initial programs that include education, collaboration, resiliency and tenant engagement
Your donations will help us:
Educate and inspire thousands of people
Catalyze action for fighting climate change
Create a thriving and more resilient planet for future generations
Please donate to our cause to participate in a more sustainable, resilient and thriving future!
